*Starting in 2011, all classes are required to display proportional sized numbers on
each door, and the roof/wing of the vehicle.
This not only increases racing realism, but also enhances the race director’s ability to
make sure each car is counting correctly, and provide accurate running order
announcements during the race.*
Thank you for your cooperation in making the racing experience at Checkered Flag
Raceway the best it can possibly be!
All questions should be directed to the Rules Director Shawn Palmer at

FUN Classes:
These are intended to be low-pressure classes for the new or casual racer. The rules are
designed for fun, close and low cost competition.
NOVICE
First time racer at Checkered Flag? Your first Novice race day is FREE. Come join us for a great time!
This class is intended for folks that are brand new to racing, or racers that feel they aren’t ready to move up
to the other classes. Racers that enter this class may ONLY race in this class on any given race day. Once a
Novice racer decides to race another class they can’t return to the Novice class.
1: Any 1/10th scale car or truck, any motor. Bring your car and run with us! (we recommend a 13.5t or
slower motor in order to learn setup and track driving lines faster)
2: Short Course, Truck, KDM, Sprint or Dirt Late Model bodies only.
3:All vehicles must follow Checkered Flag Raceway class rules pertaining to the body style
they are running before moving up to that class.
2WD Short Course Truck
This class is intended to run just like the full scale trucks. If you’re not into full fender rubbing and leaning
on each other and just having fun, this class may not be for you. Grumbling about incidental contact will
not be tolerated.
1: Any Production based 1/10th 2wd Short Course Truck.
2: Any production Short Course Truck body that covers the tires. No Baja, VW Bug style bodies or Late
Model bodies allowed. No spoilers or wings allowed.

Street Stock
This class is also intended as a low pressure step up from the novice class, and for the casual racer that just
wants to have fun, learn car setup and just have a good time. Like the Short Course class, some full scale
style incidental full fender rubbing may occur, so no grumbling. Participation is at the sole discretion of the
race director/rules committee to make sure the class stays true to the FUN intent. There will be a Spec ESC
and motor, approved body list, and spec tires used in this class.

everyone. So if you are tired of the “software/speedo/motor of the week”; this is the
best combo for fair and super low priced competition and fun. We have the capability to
easily tech these systems and anyone using altered or a different motor/ESC/tires will be
immediately and permanently transferred to the Late Model class.
